ITR Adult Assessments 102

We all want to know if what we do in therapy is really doing the job. It is not enough to take a person’s word that he or she feels better after treatment. To show the actual response, we need to measure symptoms before and after treatment. The effects of therapy should outlast the individual sessions.

ITR is a measurement-based protocol and we have assessments we recommend for adults. They are simple to use and are very effective in understanding where your client is when they start with you and how they progress along the way.

Assessments to determine stability and readiness for treatment, severity of post-traumatic stress symptoms and event specific post-traumatic symptoms:

  • Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES-II),
  • Dissociative Regression Scale (DRS)
  • Symptom Checklist 45 (SCL-45)
  • Trauma Recovery Scale (TRS)
  • PTSD Checklist 5 (PCL-5)
  • Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS)
  • Impact of Events Scale (IES)

"Assessments are so powerful. My clients love to see their progress and I can measure how the work is going. Assessments should be mandatory in the mental health field. We all need to be measurement-based! It is so encouraging for everybody.
