LAW ENFORCEMENT RESEARCH STUDY

For:Â Â Sworn Law Enforcement Officers
We are conducting a confidential research study evaluating the effectiveness of the trauma recovery method, Instinctual Trauma Response® (ITR), for law enforcement professionals in a small group setting. Participants must attend 6 guided in person 90-minute sessions over 6 weeks, with intake and post-assessment meetings. Space is extremely limited.
Inclusion Criteria
 ✔ Has the ability to complete 6 in person 90-minute sessions for 6 consecutive weeks: Wednesdays 4-5:30pm ET from March 4-April 8, 2026Â

âś” Been a sworn officer for at least 5 years
âś” Is willing to do 2 interviews plus 8 phone-based pre- and post-assessments with an independent study-member both pre- and post-study
âś” Has experienced at least one life-threatening event
âś” Speaks and understands English
âś” Can independently perform activities of daily living (ADLs)
 ✔ Is willing and able to provide consent for participation in the study
âś” Agrees to no change in medication across the period of participation (8 weeks total)
âś” Has no history of psychosis (e.g. loss of contact with reality, hallucinations, delusions)Â
âś” No suicide attempt within the past year, or crisis-level behavior that would interfere with study safety or consistency
âś” Not currently pregnant or plan to become pregnant during study duration
What You’ll Receive
- Â Free access to 6 ITR in person group sessions
- Confidential, anonymous participation (the researchers will not notify your employer of your participation or assessment results)
- Ability to process up to two life events
- Contribution to evidence-based trauma solutions for first responders
